Spokane police arrest suspect in domestic violence incident involving knife

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department (SPD) arrested a man after a domestic violence incident involving a weapon.

According to Spokane police, on Wednesday, August 7, officers responded to a domestic violence call at West Main Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the victim with lacerations from a knife.

SPD reported that the suspect had previously held a knife to the victim’s throat. The suspect was believed to be barricaded inside the victim’s home and was not responding to communication attempts from officers. SWAT and Hostage Negotiators were called in for assistance.

At approximately 12:45 a.m., SPD SWAT took the suspect into custody. He has been booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of second-degree assault-DV and felony harassment-DV. The suspect, who has prior felony convictions for burglary, is being held on a $200,000 bond.
