Spokane to send off local Paralympians

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane will soon send off Paralympians representing the United States and the city.

According to Parasport Spokane, three Paralympians will be recognized at a Send Off at the Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience on Aug. 18 at 5 p.m.

Lauren Fields will compete in a Wheelchair Race in the 100m and 800m races.

Lindi Marcusen will compete as a Sprinter and Jumper in the 100m and Long Jump races.

Taylor Swanson will compete as a Sprinter in the 100m and 200m races.

All athletes will be introduced at 5:15 p.m., and there is no cost to attend the Send-Off. However, the Van Gogh Experience is an optional additional cost. The Paris Paralympic Games will run from Aug. 28 through Sept. 8.
