IDAHO—The Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation is introducing new wildlife-themed license plates to support local wildlife.
The Foundation, a partner of the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, offers three colorful license plate designs: elk, cutthroat trout, and mountain bluebird. Each plate features original artwork by Idaho artists.
According to the department, proceeds from each license plate purchase will support distinct causes within Fish and Game’s wildlife diversity program.
The bluebird plate costs $35 for a new plate, with $25 going to the Foundation’s wildlife diversity program. For renewals, the cost is $25, with $15 allocated for wildlife.
Coeur d’Alene resident Stephen Clark illustrated the new bluebird design.
The cutthroat trout plates also cost $35 for a new plate and $15 for a renewal. A portion of each fee—$25 for new plates and $15 for renewals—supports constructing and maintaining non-motorized boating access facilities for anglers.
Stephen Clark also illustrated the cutthroat trout artwork.
The elk plates are priced at $35 for a new plate and $15 for a renewal. Similar to the other plates, $25 from new plates and $15 from renewals will benefit Fish and Game’s wildlife disease lab and the livestock disease control fund. The elk design was illustrated by Filer resident Courtney Cunningham.
