Evacuation orders lowered to level 1 (Be Ready) for Beaver Pond Fire near Carlton

Update Aug. 14 at 6:33 p.m. – According to Okanogan County Emergency Management, evacuations for the Beaver Pond Fire have been lowered to level 1 (Be Ready).

Fire officials said that forward progression has been stopped and they are working on containment.

Persons should remain clear of the area, fire personnel and equipment in the area.

Originally published on Aug. 14 at3:45 p.m. – on CARLTON, Wash. – Level 2 (Be Set) evacuation orders have been issued for a fire burning near Carlton.

According to Okanogan County Emergency Management, the fire is located to the north of the west side of the Methow River and the east side of Twisp-Carlton Road.

A Level 2 Evacuation indicates significant danger in the area. Residents should pack emergency items and stay informed through local media, the fire department, and public safety officials.
