SPOKANE, Wash. – An armed and wanted murder suspect was found and arrested by law enforcement after a short standoff early Friday morning.
Several law enforcement agencies including United States Marshals Service and Stevens County Sheriff’s detectives identified a possible location where Nathan Benninger was hiding.
The U.S. Marshals Service had a reward of up to $1,500 for any information leading directly to his arrest.
On Aug. 16 around midnight SCSO and SWAT team arrived at the hiding spot in Springdale and an hour later Benninger peacefully surrendered and was arrested.
He was booked into Stevens County Jail on his three felony arrest warrants.
