Update Aug. 16 at 9:55 p.m. – MOSES LAKE, Wash. — Grant County deputies report that two juveniles have been shot, and one person has been detained in connection with the shooting incident at the Grant County Fairgrounds.
According to the sheriff’s office, the condition of the two young people is unknown, but they have been transported to the hospital. Deputies advise rodeo attendees to follow directions from rodeo staff. Deputies said that there is no continued threat.
The shooting occurred at the carnival area and was contained to that location. Those in the campground do not need to evacuate.
Originally published on Aug. 16 at 9:16 p.m. – A person was reportedly hit during a shooting at the Grant County Fairgrounds tonight.
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, a shooting occurred at the Fairgrounds, and one person was injured. Deputies said that one person was detained.
Deputies are asking anyone at the Fairgrounds to evacuate calmly. Deputies said that the rodeo is not being evacuated.
