STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — Updated Aug. 18 at 4:11 -Level 3 (“Go Now!”) evacuations have been issued for those living near 5610 Corkscrew Canyon Road.
According to Stevens County Fire District 1, those living in a 1/3-mile radius of that area needs to evacuate now. The Wicked Drive Fire is currently at 140 to 200 acres.
There is spotting to the east, but ground crews are on it.
Updated Aug. 18 at 3:50- The Wicked Drive Fire has reached 200 acres.
Updated 3:15 p.m. – The Wicked Drive Fire has reached 150 acres and evacuation orders are still in place.
According to Stevens County Fire District 1, they have a structure protection group in place for precaution. Air and ground crews are working to get the fire under control.
Updated Aug. 18 at 2:35 p.m. – Level 2 “be set” evacuations have been ordered for the 2,000 feet radius around Corkscrew Canyon Road due to the Wicked Drive wildfire in Stevens County.
The fire burned 100 acres between Corkscrew Canyon Road and Highway 291 Sunday afternoon.
According to Stevens County Fire District 1, the fire was difficult for fire crews to access due to rough terrain. Airplanes and dozers are assisting crews in handling the flames.
