SPOKANE, Wash. — A Spokane man was arrested early Monday morning after allegedly pointing a gun at several people and firing a shot into a car’s front grill.

The Spokane Police Department (SPD) reported that they responded to the incident just after midnight on Monday, August 26, at 100 West Sinto near the North Bowl.

According to SPD, witnesses said the suspect, later identified as Joshua Cruz, 35, arrived at the scene after an initial argument at a local business. Cruz allegedly fired a round into an occupied vehicle before fleeing. A shell casing was found at the scene.

Investigators, aided by cell phone footage, identified Cruz and connected him to an address in the 1100 block of West Augusta. After securing a search warrant, police said they found several firearms, ammunition and additional shell casings at the residence.

Cruz was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail. He faces charges of drive-by shooting, first-degree assault, and second-degree malicious mischief.

His bond is set at $50,000.
