TWISP, Wash. — A man was injured in a car accident on State Route 20 near Twisp involving two cars traveling eastbound.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), at around 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday, a car driven by a 72-year-old man slowed to make a left turn when another car, driven by a 68-year-old man, attempted to pass by moving into the westbound lane. As the 72-year-old’s car completed its turn, it collided with the 68-year-old’s car in the westbound lane. Following the impact, the 68-year-old’s car came to a stop straddling both the eastbound and westbound lanes, while the 72-year-old’s car ended up on the right shoulder of the eastbound lane.
WSP reported that the 68-year-old man was injured and transported to a hospital, while the 72-year-old did not sustain injuries. Traffic in both directions at milepost 210 was closed.
The current status of the injured man is unknown.
