Avista announces price adjustments for upcoming year

SPOKANE, Wash. – Avista announced annual price adjustments Friday that would decrease natural gas rates and slightly increase electric rates.

According to Avista, the price adjustments are still awaiting approval by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission.

If the adjustments are okayed by state regulators, overall natural gas rates will decrease by about 14% while electric rates will increase by 3.5%.

Washington residents who use 66 therms of natural gas a month would see their monthly bill go from $100 to $87 a month, while electric customers who use 945 kilowatt hours monthly would see their bills increase from about $105.75 to $109.50.
