Idaho man indicted for murdering cellmate

BOISE, Idaho – An Ada County grand jury has indicted 33-year-old James Johnson on charges of first-degree murder in connection with the death of 45-year-old Milo Warnock, who was killed in his jail cell.

The indictment, issued on Aug. 27, was sealed until a warrant was served and Johnson’s initial court appearance was held today. Johnson’s next court date is scheduled for Sept. 18 before Ada County District Judge Nancy Baskin.

Under Idaho law, a conviction for first-degree murder can result in either the death penalty or life imprisonment, with a minimum sentence of 10 years.
