LANSING, Mich. (AP) — The highest courts in two states have ruled differently on efforts by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to be removed from their presidential ballots. A divided North Carolina Supreme Court affirmed late Monday that he should be omitted from that state’s ballots. But earlier in the day, the Michigan Supreme Court reversed a lower court decision and kept him on Michigan’s ballots. Kennedy suspended his campaign in late August and endorsed Republican nominee Donald Trump. The environmentalist and author has tried to get his name removed from ballots in several battleground states where the race between Trump and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris are expected to be close.
