Washington State University investigates 3 fraternities for hazing and endangerment

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University is investigating three fraternities for misconduct, including hazing, reckless endangerment and threats.

The three fraternities are being investigated for allegedly violating terms of the Washington Administrative Code stemming from incidents at the beginning of the school year.

The first incident stemmed from Tau Kappa Epsilon on Aug. 18 through the 30th.

This violation is the most severe and resulted in the suspension of all chapter activities until the investigation is completed.

The alleged violations the fraternity is facing are hazing, alcohol, reckless endangerment, harassment, and violation of university policy.

Sigma Chi is also being investigated for an incident that occurred on Aug. 25, which resulted in the group not being able to host any events with alcohol present.

The alleged violations they face are for physical harm or direct threat and reckless endangerment.

Sigma Phi Epsilon is being investigated for an incident also occurring on Aug. 25, resulting in the group being unable to host any social events.

Their alleged violations include physical harm or direct threat, reckless endangerment, and theft or property damage.

All the violations are under review by the university.
