COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Three men were sentenced to over 17 years in federal prison for three separate drug crimes in north Idaho.

U.S. Attorney Josh Hurwit applauded the work of north Idaho law enforcement and staff for the sentencing of the three men as the state focuses on prosecution efforts.

The first case that was prosecuted was Alex Luis Ahumada, 39, who was sentenced to 92 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute meth.

Ahumada was a source of pounds of meth for multiple drug dealers in Idaho. He will serve five years of supervised release following his prison sentence.

The second case ended with Kristopher Andrew Anderson, 46, being sentenced to 86 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute meth and fentanyl.

Anderson was involved in moving drugs between Washington and Montana, and through Idaho. He was stopped while driving in Shoshone and was found to be under the influence of drugs.

During the stop officers found 415 grams of meth, around 5,000 fentanyl pills and a firearm.

Anderson will also serve five years of supervised release following his prison sentence.

The third case that was successfully prosecuted was Gary Francis Glasser, 61, who was sentenced to 30 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute meth.

Glasser met with someone who gave him with a bag containing over 400 grams of meth in Lewiston.

Police arrested Glasser after the incident and upon searching his home found a digital scale, several glassine baggies and multiple ledgers.

Glasser will serve three years of supervised release following his prison sentence.

“The case results announced today reflect stellar work by our prosecutors and staff,” said U.S. Attorney Hurwit.

“Together with our law enforcement partners, our office is rising to meet the challenge that drug trafficking poses to communities in North Idaho.”
