PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University (WSU) saw an uptick in first-year enrollment for the second consecutive year.
According to WSU, 4,350 first-year students enrolled this year, compared to 4,200 last year. Both the university’s Tri-Cities and Pullman campuses experienced growth in first year admissions, though overall university enrollment dipped by 3%.
The portion of WSU students who are from the Evergreen State also increased, with 81% of students across the university system hailing from Washington.
Overall, the university’s enrollment numbers seem to be recovering from the impact of COVID-19, which led to a decrease in new and continuing students across academia.
