Business owner threatened with sword in Emerson Garfield neighborhood

SPOKANE, Wash. – A business owner was threatened with a sword in the Emerson Garfield neighborhood Monday morning.

According to the Spokane Police Department, the man was wielding a sword while making verbal threats toward the business owner on the 1200 block of West Knox Avenue.

Police arrested the man at around 11 a.m., and the business owner was not hurt.

According to the Spokane Police Department’s Sept. 16 preliminary citywide crime report, non-domestic violence related aggravated assault is down by 8.31% in Spokane compared to last year.
