SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Unit has identified and arrested a second suspect in connection with a burglary that happened on Aug. 10 on North Altamont Street.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, James A. Schneider, 42, was located and apprehended on Sept. 12 in the 1200 block of East Westview Court. He was arrested without incident and booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of first-degree burglary. Schneider has a significant criminal history, including seven felony convictions for offenses such as identity theft, assault, and drug possession, along with seven gross misdemeanor convictions. Following his arrest, he appeared in court on Sept. 13, where the Spokane County Superior Court set his bond at $100,000.
The first suspect, Harry L. Autrey, 48, was arrested earlier on Aug. 15 in North Perry Street and East Marietta Avenue. The Sheriff’s Office reports that Autrey also has an extensive criminal record, and his bond was similarly set at $100,000 by Commissioner Cruz.
The investigation remains active, with detectives saying they will continue to review evidence and gather additional information. The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office noted that the burglary resulted in significant damage to the residence and the theft of property valued at over $9,000.
