SPOKANE, Wash. – Mica Moon Zip Tours is nearing final approval for its downtown Spokane zipline project.
The Liberty Lake-based company recently won the downtown Spokane zipline request for proposals. Mica Moon’s CEO Drew Stewart expressed his enthusiasm: “It’s definitely the memory making business that we’re in not just zip lines,” Stewart said.
Mica Moon is a family business founded by Rik and Heidi Stewart after a memorable ziplining trip to Belize.
“You watch them when they get finished be like ‘oh my gosh did you see what we just did’ and they’re all excited about it and I think that part is really cool and rewarding as well,” Heidi stated.
The new zipline will start across from the Spokane Public Library, pass under the Monroe Street Bridge, and land at Redband Park in Peaceful Valley. Electric vehicles will transport participants back to the top.
“We hope to open early summer next year,” Rik added.
Drew believes the zipline will invigorate the downtown area and provide locals with a thrilling break from their routines.
“What better to split up a six-hour day of in class and doing work than riding a zip line and have, lunch that’s kind of the best thing to do,” Drew said.
The project is almost through permitting and will soon need approval from the city council to proceed.
