SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane police are on the scene of a stabbing that occurred at Sunset Grocery near downtown Spokane.
According to a spokesperson from the Spokane Police Department, a call was received around 8 p.m. Friday reporting an altercation at the store, during which an employee was stabbed in the hip.
SPD reported that the employee managed to disarm the suspect despite sustaining the injury. The suspect fled the scene, prompting a police search.
Authorities later arrested a person in connection with the incident. Probable cause has been established to charge the suspect with second-degree assault.
The employee’s injuries are reported to be non-threatening, and the investigation is ongoing.
