OTHELLO, Wash. – The Adams County Sheriff’s Office assisted two minors with gunshot wounds late Friday night after a suspected gang related shooting.
According to the sheriff’s office, the victims were a 17-year-old and 14-year-old who were both dropped off at Othello Community Hospital with gunshot wounds. The older teen had a gunshot in his calf, with the second suffering from wounds in his left hand and arm.
“Both juveniles were unable or unwilling to provide details beyond mentioning that while they were in the area of Taylor and Spur Roads, a vehicle approached. The occupants of the vehicle reportedly flashed gang signs and yelled at the first victim and his companion, after which approximately 10 shots were fired,” the sheriff’s office said.
Both minors went home with their parents after being treated for their injuries. The sheriff’s office is now investigating the shooting as a potential gang related incident, and is asking anyone who has information to call (509) 659-1122.
