COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – An Idaho man was sentenced to prison after he rearended, chased, and punched someone in a drunken rage.
Taner Bradley, 27, was driving around Coeur d’Alene with three minors when he was stopped at a red light and got out of his car.
When the light turned green, Bradley rear-ended the car in front of him as the victim tried to drive away. Bradley pursued the victim at speeds up to 100 mph, rear-ending the vehicle multiple times until both cars stopped.
A neighborhood bystander who heard the commotion confronted Bradley and was punched. The victim managed to punch Bradley several times and pinned him to the ground before officers arrived.
Police transported Bradley to a hospital, where he admitted to using meth and alcohol. He also claimed gang affiliation and was verbally abusive to officers, repeatedly yelling and spitting on their patrol car. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.231, three times the legal limit.
The prosecuting attorney described the event as a random act of violence, noting that Bradley did not remember the incident. Bradley blamed his substance addiction and said he believed he was being followed.
Bradley was sentenced for aggravated battery, battery, and excessive driving under the influence. He is eligible for parole in five years.
