Killing of wolf approved after repeated livestock attacks in Asotin

STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has been approved to kill a wolf in Stevens County following several repeated attacks on livestock.

Prior to these attacks, a livestock producer had implemented non-lethal measures to protect livestock. However, these measures were not effective in stopping the assaults.

The WDFW director has authorized the lethal removal of the wolf through October 8. If additional attacks continue beyond this date, the authorization may be extended.

The community remains vigilant as the situation develops.
