Updated at 9:50 p.m.

Avista Utilities have put in a Public Safety Power Shutoff in the Indian Trail area following weather advisories.

According to a Facebook post from Avista Utilities, the Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) will affect all customers in the Indian Trail area due to strong winds and high fire risk.

Avista put in place a multi-purpose room at Mead High School on 302 West Hastings Road, Spokane, to accommodate the power outage from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

There will be charging stations, snacks, and water available for impacted customers. Crews will patrol the line to ensure everything is safe to turn the power back on. There is no estimated time when the power will be turned on again.
