ASOTIN, Wash. — A truck driver escaped serious injury after his semi-truck hauling grain rolled over on Highway 129, just south of Asotin, on Tuesday morning.

Asotin County Fire District #1 and Lewiston Rescue crews responded to the accident shortly before 8:00 a.m. They found the truck on its side in the road.

Rescue crews assessed the driver, who refused transport.

Fire crews acted quickly to stop diesel from leaking from the truck into nearby land. They used large drain pans and buckets to contain and transport the fuel.

Vehicles were able to pass the truck in one lane during the incident.

There were no reported injuries in this accident, and the Washington State Patrol is investigating the cause.
