Investigation in Kellogg over Sen. Phil Hart’s residency claims

KELLOGG, Idaho – A new investigation in Kellogg is raising questions about Senator Phil Hart’s residency. The Idaho Democratic Party has hired a private investigator to verify whether Hart lives in his district.

This speculation isn’t new, as similar claims have surfaced before, notably during this year’s primary elections.

“I’ve lived in Kellogg since 2017,” Hart told NonStop Local.

He said that he resides in his house where a recent press conference was held, explaining that while the front of the house is under construction, the back is liveable.

When informed that a neighbor claimed never to have seen him, Hart responded, “That can’t be true.” Hart added that construction and carpentry are significant hobbies of his.

Earlier, the Idaho Secretary of State’s Office confirmed they received a related complaint earlier this year, concluding that Hart did reside within the district. Hart explained they reviewed his driver’s license and stated he recently met with them again in Boise.

The Secretary of State’s Office is currently reviewing the new complaint.
