WASHINGTON (AP) — Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are marking the first anniversary of the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust. Their presidential campaigns approach the final weeks with the widening conflict in the Middle East seen as a growing challenge. Harris described the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas as “an act of pure evil” and she planted a tree at the vice president’s residence to honor the victims. Trump will speak before Jewish community leaders at one of his Florida resorts in the Miami suburb of Doral. Earlier in the day he visited the gravesite of the late leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement of Orthodox Judaism.
