LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. – The Liberty Lake Police Department (LLPD) is investigating a series of weekend break-ins after several people reported their cars and homes were targeted.

LLPD confirmed that at least 5 incidents, including a vehicle theft, vehicle prowling and a home burglary, occurred.

Kaci and David Stuck were asleep in the early morning hours of October 6, when they said their car and house were broken into.

“The thief parked in the neighbor’s driveway, went over to my truck. I must’ve left it unlocked, because he was able to get inside. He opened the third car garage door. And that’s how he was able to gain entry into the garage,” David Stuck said. “And, we can see it on [the] footage, he actually opened the door. He went in our home and that’s where he was able to take my wallet, all of our keys [and] my son’s backpack.”

Other items were stolen from inside the garage and house, including almost all of their keys.

“It was every key fob they could get a hold of to the cars… Anything that had to do with our identity was taken. So, like he said, his wallet, my purse, some important documents that my daughter had still in her car from getting a new job. It was all taken. But also, some very random things,” Laci Stuck said.

Those other items included a Nintendo Switch, backpacks and gym bags.

The Stuck family reported the incident to LLPD, who informed them other properties were targeted over the weekend.

Katie Moore Roe reported that her son’s car, which was mistakenly left unlocked in their driveway Friday night, had been broken into.

“He [Roe’s son] walked out to the car and said ‘Everything is gone. My money is gone.’… His driver’s license was gone. His school ID was gone,” Moore Roe, said.

She said the thief also used the boy’s debit card to make fraudulent charges.

LLPD told NonStop Local it seems to be a “crime spree” and that all of the incidents appear to be related. But, they cannot officially confirm the incidents are connected at this time.
