CLARKSTON, Wash. – Asotin County firefighters quickly extinguished a garage fire early Tuesday morning.
According to Asotin County Fire District 1, crews were dispatched around 2 a.m. for a reported garage fire.
When they arrived, firefighters encountered significant heat and smoke in the attached garage of a home on Hillcrest Way.
The property owner informed firefighters about the presence of ammunition and other hazards in the garage. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within minutes and checked for any extension into the attic and walls.
They reported that the fire was contained to the garage, which sustained heat and smoke damage, but the home appeared structurally intact.
Firefighters believe the cause of the fire was likely a battery charger. No injuries were reported.
