SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) Branch will hold its second annual Candidate Forum and Town Hall to promote voter education and engagement.

Scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m., the event will take place at the Spokane Public Library, located at 909 West Main, Third Floor.

The forum will feature local candidates, including Al French and Molly Marshall, who are vying for the position of Spokane County Commissioner. The Town Hall segment will include Carmela Conroy, a candidate for the U.S. House representing Washington’s 5th Congressional District, and Natasha Hill, who is running for the Washington House of Representatives, District 3, Position 1.

The NAACP said they reached out to the opponents of Conroy and Hill, but those candidates either had scheduling conflicts or declined to participate. The forum will be moderated by KREM 2 News anchor Channing Curtis.
