GREAT FALLS, Mont. – A devastating fire on October 9 left a trailer house at 1213 1st Ave. SW completely destroyed.

The Great Falls Fire Rescue responded to the fire at 6:06 p.m., discovering the structure with heavy involvement on the south end. GFFR requested support from the Montana Air National Guard and Malmstrom Air Force Base’s fire departments. An engine company was called back to assist with the efforts, GFFR’s release said.

The fire led to significant damage, rendering the home uninhabitable. The American Red Cross was notified and aided the displaced residents.

While no injuries were reported, unfortunately, two dogs did not escape and died in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, GFFR said.
