RICHLAND, Wash.-The Hanford Advisory Board is seeking members to advise both state and federal agencies on cleanup at the Hanford Site.
“We’re looking for new board members interested in making a difference,” said Susan Coleman, chair of the HAB. “A diversity of voices and perspectives on the board is crucial for providing meaningful advice.”
The volunteer, nonpartisan board represents the interests of those affected by Hanford cleanup and provides policy recommendations to the Tri-Party Agreement agencies –the U.S. Department of Energy, Washington State Department of Ecology, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, according to a HAB press release.
“The advice we provide to the Tri-Party Agreement agencies now can help influence cleanup for decades to come,” said Coleman.
Applications for public-at-large, as well as local and regional organizational seats on the board and more information about the HAB can be found on Energy’s website.
HAB meetings are held quarterly and terms for new members will start Oct. 1, 2025 and run for two years.
Applications are open until Dec. 6.
