MISSOULA, Mont. – Boo and Tom Johns have returned to Missoula from Washington for this year’s homecoming festivities. The couple travels back to town annually for the event, showing their deep-rooted passion for the University of Montana Grizzlies.

The Johns couple emphasized the significance of homecoming.

“Homecoming is special because for a lot of people this is the only game that they make it all year,” said Tom Johns. “So you see people that maybe you only see a few times or once a year and all of the festivities… Our grandkids will be here this weekend a few of them… And going to the parade is really a special activity.”

Originally from Butte and now residing in Spokane, Boo and Tom cherish the opportunity to be close to their family on weekends like these. The reunion with familiar faces at home games holds particular importance during the homecoming.

Their schedule is packed with alumni events. Boo and Tom shared more about their passion for the Griz with a little family anecdote, saying their granddaughter insists on hearing the fight song before bed.
