Friday is online deadline to vote in Idaho

BOISE, Idaho – Friday is the last day that citizens of Idaho can register to vote online.

According to Idaho state law, the deadline to digitally register as a voter is 24 days before an election, making Oct. 11 the last day for the upcoming Nov. 5 ballot.

You can register to vote online at VoteIdaho.Gov. If you plan to register in-person, you can do so at a county election office or polling place up to or on election day.

Registering to vote in person requires an Idaho driver’s license or another valid form of ID and proof of residence.

Idaho currently operates under a closed primary system, meaning that during primary elections you can only vote for candidates in the party in which you have registered. Voters will consider whether to move the Gem State to an open primary system on Nov. 5.

If you have been a citizen of Idaho for less than 30 days or if you are not a resident of the state, you cannot vote in Idaho and should seek voter registration information for the state where you live.
