OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington State Patrol has 12 new officers who will monitor business vehicles throughout the state.

The Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers (CVEOs) completed 24 weeks of training and have already placed over 1,000 trucks and cars out of service for safety violations.

CVEOs ensure that drivers aren’t endangered by improperly secured chemicals or heavy materials on transportation vehicles, and are an important part of ensuring illegal materials cannot travel across the state.

Three of the new officers will work in Spokane, with another being assigned to Moses Lake.
