NEWPORT, Idaho – A 17-year-old girl died in a crash after she rolled into a ditch and was ejected from the car.
The Washington State Patrol said that on Sunday Oct. 13 around 1:30 p.m., the teen was driving south on Highway 2 southwest of Newport when she crossed the median.
After crossing the median, she entered the northbound lane and began to roll. Her car landed in a ditch near the northbound lanes after she was ejected.
Officers arrived on scene and transported her to Scared Heart Hospital where she later died on Oct. 17.
There were no other vehicles involved in the incident and the cause is currently under investigation.
