ROYAL CITY, Wash. – A man from Royal City has been arrested following allegations of sexual assault against two young children.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Sergio Barragan, 54. Barragan was taken into custody on Tuesday after reportedly assaulting children aged between 7 and 9 years old. Officials stated that both victims knew Barragan.
Deputies said that they found probable cause to charge Barragan with first-degree rape of a child and first-degree child molestation, both with an aggravator of abuse of trust. He made his first appearance in Grant County Superior Court on Wednesday.
A judge set Barragan’s bail at $75,000 cash or bond. His court arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 5.
