SPOKANE, Wash. – A Spokane man accused of stabbing his father to death with a kitchen knife made his first appearance in district court Friday.

Damien Eiffert is accused of the deadly stabbing of his father on Tuesday. According to court documents, a witness saw Damien’s father after the alleged attack.

“He…saw Robert Eiffert all cut up laying in the doorway of the building. He did not believe Robert Eiffert was breathing,” court documents stated.

Damien Eiffert allegedly stabbed his father several times before he was found dead near the exit of an apartment complex.

Another witness told police that Eiffert called them and said he “could not take his dad anymore and stabbed him to death,” according to court documents.

Eiffert allegedly drove away in his father’s car after the stabbing and was arrested after Washington State Patrol tracked the car’s license plate. He purportedly refused to cooperate with troopers and Spokane County sheriff’s deputies and was reportedly captured after trying to run away.

After his arrest, Eiffert allegedly admitted that he was recovering from meth and opioid withdrawal. He is currently in Spokane County Jail.
