Female student attacked on WSU campus, police search for suspect

PULLMAN, Wash. – WSU Police are searching for a suspect that grabbed a female student from behind and choked her unconscious while on campus.

WSU Police say they received the report of the assault nearly a week after the attack that occurred on Oct. 21.

The female student said she was grabbed from behind and choked shortly after 8 p.m. in a student parking lot just south of Beasley Coliseum.

When the woman regained consciousness, she said she was in the same place where the assault occurred. She told police she believes she was sexually assaulted.

WSU Police said she could not provide a description of the suspect because she was grabbed from behind.

The report of the assault came shortly after WSU addressed rumors of a ‘serial rapist on campus’.

Anyone who may have information about this assault is asked to call WSU PD at (509) 335-8548. WSU said they will also be increasing patrols on campus.
