Two identified in deadly RV fire at Wild Rose RV Park near Colbert

COLBERT, Wash. — The two people killed in an RV fire at Wild Rose RV Park near Colbert have been identified.

According to the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victims were Bobby Joe Davis, 53, and Gloria Davis, 64. The office stated that the cause and manner of death are still under investigation.

Spokane County Fire District 4 reported that the fire occurred when a fifth-wheel Avalanche-style RV caught fire at the park. Firefighters confirmed that Bobby and Gloria Davis died as a result of the incident, and a pet was also killed.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Department said the cause of the fire remains unknown, but investigators are working with the Major Crimes Unit to determine the cause.

Assistant Fire Marshal David La Chappelle said that it is believed to be electrical in nature, but emphasized that this has not been confirmed.

Additionally, La Chappelle noted that there were no smoke detectors present inside the RV.
