SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Fire Department is mourning the loss of firefighter Josh Rhoads who passed away on Oct. 24, 2024, after a five-and-a-half-year fight against cancer.
Josh joined the department in March 2017 and spent much of his career at Station 1 and Station 7. SFD said his colleagues knew him for his exceptional skills and his unwavering commitment to his duties.
Not only was Josh a Spokane firefighter he was also a family man who leaves behind his wife and two children.
“His face would light up to his colleagues whenever he talked about his wife and two children, who survive him at home.” SFD said.
