Spokane police arrest four motorcyclists for reckless driving in emphasis patrol

SPOKANE, Wash. — Four motorcyclists were arrested after Spokane police conducted an emphasis patrol to address reckless motorcycle driving.

According to a press release from the Spokane Police Department, the patrol took place on Oct. 12. The motorcyclists were arrested for reckless driving and booked into Spokane County Jail. One of the individuals received a $395 ticket for driving without a motorcycle endorsement. All arrests were made with the assistance of a drone unit.

In 2024, four motorcyclists have died in crashes in Spokane. Motorcycle crash fatalities have been trending upward for the past decade in the city, with over half of these incidents (57%) involving speed. Similar trends have been observed statewide, with 138 motorcyclists killed in 2023.
