SPOKANE, Wash. – As winter approaches, drivers in Spokane can now legally equip their cars with studded tires for enhanced safety on icy roads.
Chris Zimmerman from Les Schwab Tire Center shared insights on the various tire options available for winter driving as Spokane residents hit the road.
“There are several different tire options when it comes to winter driving,” Zimmerman said. He explained that all-weather tires are suitable for light snow conditions, while studless snow tires offer improved braking and traction with a softer compound.
For the most challenging driving conditions, Zimmerman recommended studded tires.
“Those are gonna provide premium traction on ice, especially on ice hills, any kind of treacherous driving conditions,” he said.
When it comes to storing tires, Zimmerman mentioned that Les Schwab offers a seasonal tire storage service for those who need it
