Moses Lake driver falls asleep, overturns semi on highway

MOSES LAKE, Wash. – A 24-year-old semi-truck driver overturned on SR-17 after he fell asleep behind the wheel on Tuesday.

The crash near mile post 50 happened when the semi and its trailer veered off the roadway on the northbound shoulder. The truck rolled and landed on its top.

Washington State Patrol says the driver was wearing a seatbelt but had to be extricated from the semi and only sustained minor injuries.

He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment. No charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
