SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Marlin A. Stutzman will return to Congress after an eight-year hiatus. The Republican won the seat in Tuesday’s election over Democrat Kiley Adolph. Stutzman is a large-scale farmer and truck-company operator who held the seat from 2010 to 2017. He left it for an unsuccessful U.S. Senate bid in 2016. Indiana voters have three open congressional seats to fill in the election Tuesday. Republicans hope to keep them while aiming to knock off a Democrat in the northwest part of the state. Three incumbents are retiring or seeking another office. They’re currently all held by Republicans in right-leaning districts. The GOP is also targeting Democratic U.S. Rep. Frank Mrvan, who is seeking his third term in the 1st District.
