Russ Fulcher wins another term representing northeastern Idaho

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Congressman Russ Fulcher (R) won reelection to his US House seat Tuesday night, continuing a streak of Republican representation for Idaho in the federal government.

NBC called the election in Fulcher’s favor Tuesday night over his

No Democrat has won Idaho’s first congressional district since Walt Minnick won a single term in 2008 and lost his reelection campaign to in 2011.

Fulcher is in-line with other conservative Republicans in state leadership who argue that despite Idaho sharing a border with Canada, the US-Mexico border is a pressing issue for the Gem State. He is also an advocate for the state government securing more control over federally owned land.
