SPOKANE, Wash. – North Spokane has three restaurants in the same square block that all have one thing in common. Chicken.
Spokane residents can rely on the square block of North Newport Highway for all of their fast-food chicken needs as a third restaurant announces plans to open.
The restaurant that started the trend back in 2020 was Chick-fil-a. When Chick-fil-a first came to Spokane the community responded with a large turnout in excitement for the chain that almost exclusively sells chicken.
Four years later, another chicken inspired restaurant announced its plans to open up a location in Spokane.
Hopeful Spokane residents awaited official plans from
Raising Canes made the announcement with plans to open in the fall of 2025 at 9252 North Newport Highway.
Just six short months later, another restaurant decided it wouldn’t miss the opportunity in an open spot on the same block.
Houston TX Hot Chicken announced on Thursday that it will open its second Spokane location on Nov. 16 at 9412 N Newport Hwy.
The trifecta of chicken has some Spokane residents wondering what this will do to traffic in the area.
One Spokane native noted that the area is ‘already congested’ with traffic due to the new developments in the area.
“There’s been accidents near Chick-Fil-A… Adding to the already congested area is just going to cause more headaches for the locals that live down there. And, it’s just going to be a big mess,”
So, the question is, why are they all planting roots on the same block?
That question can only be answered by business partners and the companies themselves. NonStop Local reached out for their comments and did not immediately hear back.
One thing is for certain though, north Spokane residents will not be in short supply of fast-food chicken anytime soon.
