Former Spokane Regional Emergency Communications employee arrested again, charged with witness tampering

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — A former employee of Spokane Regional Emergency Communications (SREC) has been arrested and charged with additional crimes after allegedly trying to intimidate a witness in her ongoing case.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Shawna Langdon, 34, was initially arrested on Oct. 18 in connection with an investigation into false police reports she filed accusing her ex-husband of serious crimes, including kidnapping, rape, and assault. The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said investigators determined the allegations were unfounded, leading to charges of malicious prosecution, false reporting, and making false statements to a public servant. Langdon was booked into the Spokane County Jail and later released on bond.

The investigation continued, and new details emerged that Langdon attempted to influence a juvenile witness after her release. Deputies allege Langdon tried to manipulate the witness into taking responsibility for the crimes she is accused of committing. As a result, Langdon was arrested again on Oct. 22, facing additional charges of two counts of malicious prosecution, intimidating a witness, tampering with a witness and making false statements according to the sheriff’s office.
