COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – The Idaho Fish and Game Commission will offer free fishing licenses to youth in the foster care system and foster parents starting in 2025.

According to Fish and Wildlife, all foster children and one foster parent for each household will receive a free license if they apply starting next year.

“We’re proud to support Idaho’s foster youth by making it easier for them to experience the joy of fishing,” Public Information Supervisor Roger Phillips said.

Foster families hoping to participate in the program can reach out to Laura Denner, the Idaho official who will coordinate licenses.
