FBI offering $25k reward for information on ballot box fires in Vancouver, Portland

VANCOUVER, Wash.-The FBI is asking for help from the public in identifying the person suspected of burning ballot boxes in Vancouver and Portland in October.

The FBI is now offering a reward of $25,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of whoever placed an incendiary device in a drop box in Vancouver on Oct. 8 and another one in Portland on Oct. 28.

Images of a dark 2003 or 2004 Volvo S-60 sedan suspected of being driven by the person responsible for the fires was caught on surveillance video in the area of the fires.

According to the FBI, the Volvo had a fraudulent Washington plate on the back and no plate on the front at the time of the incident in Portland.

The driver of the Volvo is believed to be a white male between the ages of 30 and 40 who may have experience in metal work and welding.
