AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — A water main was damaged in an Airway Heights neighborhood, causing a water outage that lasted about seven hours.
According to a city official, the incident occurred Tuesday at around 4:15 p.m. when a fiber optic contractor accidentally struck a water main while drilling at the intersection of Chandler Avenue and Russell Street.
City officials said they isolated the affected area by turning off the valves, but residents in the neighborhood were without water until about 10:50 p.m. The water was restored around 11 p.m. after crews repaired the break.
